Applications for Permits
A Land Use Permit is required for any change in land uses. Any development or activity associated with the land use change shall not begin prior to issuance of a Land Use Permit. Please contact the Land Use Office for more information

Planning Commission & Board of Adjustments
The Planning Commission is a seven member board appointed by the Board of County Commissioners for three year staggered terms. The Planning Commission is assigned with a civic responsibility to review matters concerning Use Permits, Subdivisions, Public Road Vacations, and Zone Changes. They are responsible for the creation and amendment of the County Comprehensive Plan. The Planning Commission provides foresight into planning and development decisions. The Planning Commission works collaboratively as an advisory board to make recommendations to the County Commissioners for final decisions on Land Use applications.
The Board of Adjustments is a five member board appointed by the Board of County Commissioners for three year staggered terms. The Board of Adjustments is assigned with a civic responsibility to hear, review, and approve, approve with conditions, or disapprove applications for variances from zone district standards. The Board of Adjustments also hears, reviews, considers and affirms, modifies or can reverse appeals of interpretations of the Land Use Code made by the Land Use Administrator.
Applications requiring legal notification and public hearing must be completed and filed with the Land Use Administrator no later than 20 days prior to being heard by the Planning Commission. Applications requiring legal notification and public hearing before the Board of Adjustments must be completed and filed with the Land Use Administrator no later than 35 days prior to being heard by the Board of Adjustments. Other agenda items must be filed 10 days prior to the meeting date.
